When I print out a document, it has a white line on the right side! Do I buy drum cartridge or clean computer?

You see, I bought a printer like a year ago. And now, when I print my documents out, or try to fax and copy it, it has a white line on the right side. It doesn’t look like a white line, but it takes a space like one inch so I can’t see it. I need two answers. How can I stop this white line from blurring all my pages? Plus, in order for me to resolve it, should I buy a drum cartridge or should I just clean my computer hard disk or something? PLEASE HELP, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS, SO PLEASE HELP! This problem really doesn’t have anything to do with your computer (hard disk, data, etc.) so you don’t have to clean, tweak or adjust anything there.
The problem is directly related to your multi-function device (MFC-8220). The first thing to try is to remove your toner cartridge and shake it a few times to see if maybe the toner is low and missing from that side. If that makes things better, then your cartridge is low on toner and will need to be replaced soon. If that doesn’t change anything, then it can still be your toner cartridge that is defective and needs to be replaced. It is also possible that there is an obstruction of some kind (toner dust, paper, etc.) that is blocking the laser (usually at the laser exit window) from the toner cartridge drum at that spot that needs to be removed or cleaned. The easiest way to tell is to replace the cartridge, if that fixes it then you’re done, if not, then you’ll need to find the source of the obstruction.
Everything above is for printing from the computer and copying, but if you have a problem with faxes that are sent out and have that problem then your problem location is at the scanner window part. There is most likely a piece of paper in the paper path for the ADF (automatic document feeder) window where it is scanned by the scanner blocking the image from being seen when scanned (this will also affect the copying part too but not printing from your computer) that will need to be removed.
